January is not only the start of a new year, but the start of an amazing new line-up of TV programming as well. January is when the major networks (ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, and The CW) finally release their mid-season premieres. For TV lovers across the nation, it’s like getting a late holiday gift that keeps on giving week after week. And, with all the cold weather and icy road conditions that have been affecting much of the country, it’s probably best that everybody stay inside where the blankets are warm, the popcorn is fresh, and the best bet for entertainment is on DISH TV.
The mid-season premiere line-up for the early half of 2013 is nothing short of amazing. There’s a new program (or two) to meet the tastes of anyone in the house. If you like riveting drama, the new season of Downton Abbey is set to premiere in January on PBS. If you’re a fan of Sex and the City, you’ll love watching the prequel series The Carrie Diaries on The CW this month. And as an added bonus, TV watchers will get a fresh dose of their favorite programming with new starts from American Idol on FOX, Justified on FX, and Cougar Town on TBS. What else is in the planning for the mid-season? We’re glad you asked!
On Showtime in January, you can revisit all the wild antics of the Gallagher family with Shameless (starring Emmy Rossum and William H. Macy). American Horror Story: Asylum returns to FX with its season finale. Suits with Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams returns to USA Network this month. The final episode of Fringe wraps up all the unexplained phenomena on FOX this month. And if you love to laugh, Parks and Recreation returns to NBC this month. Also on NBC, 30 Rock returns for its final episodes.
In February, Psych returns to the USA Network. In addition, February brings back Community with Joel McHale on NBC, and Touch with Kiefer Sutherland on FOX.
The fantasy epic Game of Thrones on HBO has its season premiere this March. Grimm and Revolution both return to NBC in March.
So, if you’re as excited about the mid-season premieres as we are, it’s probably a good time to stock up on plenty of microwave popcorn and clear your calendar for the onslaught of great prime-time TV programming that’s headed your way. With the DISH America’s Top 250 channel package, you can enjoy over 250 great channels. And DISH also has a great selection of premium movie channel packages from HBO, Showtime, Starz, and Cinemax. Let’s not forget that there’s exciting NFL football to be watched over the course of the next few weeks. Then we get right into the NCAA Championships. Fortunately, DISH TV has a variety of sports packages for the sports lover in the house. Need access to NBA TV, NHL Network, Big Ten Network, Fox Soccer Channel, or Fuel TV?
